Visit an Alpaca at Cotton Creek Farms is an Huacaya alpaca farm open late April through December where you can meet and feed the alpacas. They offer feed in the store for $1/bag.

Hungry Duck’s Farm in Charlevoix lets you get up close and personal with fluffy chickens, baby rabbits, and miniature goats and more. Opens in May for the season.

Pond Hill Farm

Pond Hill Farm’s livestock barn is open year-round to visit their goats and bunnies. You can also visit their farm store, cafe, winery, and brewery. Don’t miss the sledding hill in the winter time!

Gallagher's Farm Market and Bakery
7237 E. Traverse Hwy, Traverse City, MI
Gallagher’s Farm Market opens in mid-June of each year as local asparagus and strawberries become available, and remains open through October. Each spring new farm animals join the family, including chickens, pigs, and lambs that you can watch grow throughout the summer season. Season opens June 12th 2024.

GT Butterfly House and Zoo

GT Butterfly House is a locally owned educational facility, home to hundreds of invertebrates from around the world. You’ll engage with an education team who helps guests receive an up-close, personalized self-guided tour of Zoo’s collection of hundreds of animals, including our personal favorite part, the Butterfly House. Open May through September.

Gaylord City Elk Park Viewing Area
The City of Gaylord maintains an elk herd and provides viewing areas for the public to stop and watch these impressive animals. Under the City’s care, roughly 40 elk, along with sika and fallow deer, can be viewed from near the Elk’s Lodge off Grandview Blvd. Open year-round.

Roscommon Zoo is a family owned and operated zoo/petting zoo located in Crawford County just minutes from downtown Roscommon. The zoo covers 20 acres is home to various native and non-native exotic animals as well as domestic farm animals.
