This Family Adventure is an opportunity for children to get outside, get some energy out, and make new friends! It is also a chance for parents to connect to each other, learn more about resources in our community and find out ways to be more involved.

Turkey Vulture Trot 5k and 1-Mile Fun Run

Give your metabolism a boost over Thanksgiving Reconnect Weekend with our Turkey Vulture Trot 5k and 1-Mile Fun Run! The 5K will begin at 9am on Thursday, November 28 on our Mountain Center Road course. The 1-Mile Fun Run will begin at 10am. A portion of the proceeds will benefit North Sky Raptor Sanctuary .

A commemorative medal will be awarded to the top 3 men and women in each age group for the 5K race. All Fun Run participants will receive a finisher medal. The overall male and female winner of the 5K will receive a Crystal Mountain Prize Pack valued at over $200.

We are excited to announce that for our 2024 Turkey Vulture Trot we will now have Chip timing! Runners will receive a bib with a small electronic device that records their time as they cross the starting line and the finish line.

Online registration will close at Noon on Wednesday, November 27.

You’re invited to the fun and quirky Bed Parade in Glen Arbor, among other in town events after Thanksgiving. Simply view the spectacle from the curb and cheer on participants as they roll their festively decorated bed on wheels down Western Avenue, or join in the fun with your own festively decorated bed!

Want to participate? Rally your troops and haul your creativity to town for a 9am parade start time on Friday, Nov. 29th, 2024. The “parade” will begin just outside the Pine Cone and complete at the Post Office. Join other participants for a post-parade treat from Leelanau Coffee Roasters or Art’s Tavern, which will be open for breakfast.

Holiday Trails will kick-off with Santa making his way through the resort core beginning at 5pm from Kinlochen to the Crystal Center on a Horse Drawn Surrey. Fall Festival at Camp Carvela

Join Camp Carvela for their first annual Fall Festival!

Come celebrate all things fall with - with activities like face painting, lawn games, smores, apple 'bobbing', a seasonal scavenger hunt and more.

We will also have yummy treats - come grab a donut and apple cider, or a hotdog and a can of pop - at the pricepoint of your choosing, as a donation towards our scholarship fund. Pay it forward to help more kids come to camp!

Halloween for All

Join Dennos Museum and Children's Therapy Corner for the second annual sensory-friendly Halloween event!  We will have a variety of fun activities with an emphasis on sensory sensitivity and accommodations to create an inclusive environment where all are welcome!
 

Visitors may self-select activities they would like to participate in, with descriptive maps provided at the entrance to the museum. Halloween activities may include pumpkin art projects, playdough monsters, coloring and activity pages, Discovery Gallery interactive exhibits, and Halloween treat bags.  The Dutmers Theater will be a designated quiet room, offering an easily accessible space to take a break.  A social story about the event will be available on our website within a week of the program for visitors to review and will also be emailed to those who RSVP in advance.  Although the museum has made considerations for sensory sensitivity for this event, families are encouraged to bring any accommodations that may be helpful. Questions about the event can be directed to Liz Celeste at eceleste@nmc.edu. 
 

This event is free and registration is not required, but recommended.

13th Annual Fall Family Fun Festival - FREE EVENT October 26th 11 am to 1:30 pm.

We are back at the Fifth Street Gym!!! Let's make the 13th year the best year ever!

Bring the kids to enjoy: this free event. Kids' games, crafts, photo booth, pumpkin decorating, bounce house, bake sale, cotton candy, popcorn, snow cones and free hot dog lunch. Door prize drawings for parents.

Downtown Petoskey Business Trick or Treating

Be ye pumpkin, princess, or pirate with superpowers; join us for Trick or Treating throughout the Downtown Stores!

Line up at Central Elementary School beginning at 9:45 am. The parade will start at 10 am and march from Central Elementary down Howard Street to Pennsylvania Park in Downtown Petoskey.

At dusk on Saturday, October 26th, Downtown Petoskey will host the fourth annual Jack O’ Lantern walk through Pennsylvania Park! Bring your already carved or decorated pumpkin to Pennsylvania Park between 1 and 6 pm for a chance to win $50 in Downtown Dollars!

The Jack O’ Lanterns will be lit at sunset for you to walk through and enjoy all night!

Crystal Lake Alpaca Farm Fall Fest

Happy Fall! To celebrate our last weekend where our animal park will be open for petting and feeding we decided to throw the paca's a good-bye (for now) party! Come and enjoy a day full of fall activities! Our first ever Crystal Lake Alpaca Farm Fall Fest will include:
