Free summer concerts in Northern Michigan 2024

It doesn’t get much better than summer in Northern Michigan and something that’s quintessentially Northern Michigan is relaxing on a picnic blanket and listening to live music while the kiddos dance nearby. There are SO MANY great free summer concerts in Northern Michigan this summer. Read on for details!

STAND ALONE EVENTS

Mount Holiday Less Cancer Free Event in Traverse City - Saturday, June 1st
Mt. Holiday  will be kicking off this year’s Hike and Bike America with a FREE concert on Saturday, June 1st at Mt. Holiday in Traverse City, Michigan! This event will feature Sean Kelly and The Timewiser as the opening band, followed by The Insiders (a Tom Petty tribute band).

The Singing Sergeants U.S. Air Force Band - Monday, June 24at 7:30 pm
Enjoy a free evening of patriotic tunes, choral standards, Broadway hits, and more from the United States Air Force’s Singing Sergeants.

Jammin’ Mondays on Betsie Bay -
7 pm Mondays
Head to the Waterfront Park Amphitheater in Elberta at 7pm on Mondays for live music on Betsie Bay. The series runs from June 17th-September 2nd.

You’ll find live music at Portage Lake M-22 and Onekama on Mondays starting July 1st and running through August 12th.

Boyne City Pavilion Summer Concerts  - Wednesdays at 6:30pm
Taking place in Veterans Park for the 2024 summer season, concerts will take place each Wednesday evening, 6:30pm-8:00pm, June 5 through August 28, 2024.

Evenings on River Street in Elk Rapids - Wednesdays at 6pm
Every Wednesday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m -June 26 through July 31 . The event features food from local restaurants, kid’s activities, and live music.

Leland ‘Music in the Air' Summer Concert Series - Thursdays at 7pm
Everyone gets to enjoy free, live music on the beautiful front lawn of the Old Art Building all summer long! Bring chairs, blankets, and a basket full of your favorite local goodies for the full experience. Socialize, picnic, and mingle while you enjoy live music from a variety of talented musicians from around the region. Music begins at 7:00 PM on Thursdays. and runs until 9:00 PM June 27th - September 1st.

Enjoy live music in East Park every Thursday evening at 7pm. From June 27th to August 15th.

Beulah Music in the Park takes place at 7pm on Thursdays in Beulah Park from June 27th - August 8th, including a performance by the Accidentals on July 4th!

Fridays

Glen Arbor Late Night Fridays - Fridays at 5pm
Taking place at the Glen Arbor Arts Center Front Porch at 5pm, these live music events are free and run from June7th to August 23rd.

At Marina Park in Harbor Springs you’ll find live music every Friday night from July 5th to August 16th.

Downtown Gaylord Summer Concert Series
The outdoor summer music series in Gaylord will be happening every Friday night. That’s 15 free concerts right downtown (minus Alpenfest weekend). These family-friendly events start at 7:00 pm in Claude Shannon Park. If you think you’ll need a break from dancing, don’t forget to BYOC (bring your own chair). Drinks and food are available just steps away.  May 24th - August 23rd

“MASTERWORKS IN MINIATURE” – FAMILY EVENTS SERIES in Collaboration with Traverse Area District Library
Held on weekends throughout the region, this new series will integrate storytelling with music and movement, aimed at children 5-12 and their families. Bring your own blanket and/or chairs.
