Get outdoors and get active with a nature program for preschool age kids

It can be a challenge at times to get out and get active in the winter with your littles. But what better way to both get outdoors and instill a sense of wonder and appreciation for the beauty around us than “Nature School” (as my three-year-old affectionally calls it)?

Run by the Grand Traverse Conservation District, the Peepers Program offers kids ~3-5 years old the opportunity to explore and discover the beauty of nature around them.

Each Tuesday, classes meet at the Boardman River Nature Center to discuss and explore a different theme in a 60-minute nature program which include stories, crafts, music, and discovery activities.

All class are on a drop-in basis, making it easy to attend when you’re available and pass when you’re not, with a program cost of $5/child per session. Advance registration is recommended.

Sessions take place ENTIRELY OUTDOORS, so snow pants and warm weather gear are encouraged!
