Spring Break Moon Adventure at The Curiosity Place (Grand Traverse Mall) - March 24th-

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live and work on the Moon? This spring break, you can find out! The Curiosity Place is hosting Spring Break Moon Adventure, an exciting week-long program where kids ages 4 and up can explore what it takes to travel, survive, and thrive on the Moon.

The adventure begins on Monday, March 24th, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, and continues Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Each day will be packed with hands-on activities, fun challenges, and incredible discoveries about our closest neighbor in space.

This program is a free-with-admission program. That means all your family needs to secure their trip on this lunar rocket ship is a reservation for the Curiosity Place!

Spring Break at the Dennos Museum March 21st - 30th

Visit the museum for a Spring Break adventure for the whole family. Kids are free this week with accompanying adults. A new scavenger hunt will be available at the front desk. Turn it in to receive a prize! 

*All children under 15 must be accompanied by at least one adult.

The State Theater will be offering three free movie showings daily over Spring Break, with family movies such as Song of the Sea, Shrek 2, Babe, and Paddington 2.

GTRLC’s Annual Maple Sugaring Day at the Maple Bay Farm - March 22nd
Maple Bay Farm, 10849 US-31, Williamsburg, MI 49690
This family-friendly event allows participants to learn about every step of the maple sugaring process, from tapping the trees and boiling the sap down to maple syrup to tasting the finished product. All of this will take place at the beautiful Maple Bay farm, which boasts its own charming red sugar shack used just for this occasion.

Participants can “choose their adventure” at the event. Staff and volunteers stationed in the sugar bush, cellar, and sugar shack will demonstrate the sugaring process, showing how sap is transformed into delicious maple syrup! Registration required!

Maple Sugaring Days - March 22nd 10 am - 5 pm
Experience the sugaring process through time at the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes. There will be a guided hike, demonstrations, a visit to a historic sugar shack, kid's activities, maple syrup sampling, and goodies to take home.
The event is free with a park pass.

Join the Great Start Family Coalition for a Spring Break Family Adventure at Boyne Area Gymnastics and Dance! No cost to attend!

Through generous support from Boyne Area Gymnastics, we are able to offer a free event for families with children 0-12 consisting of free play time on the equipment, light snack and story time.

This Family Adventure is an opportunity for children to get their energy out, experience some tumbling time, and make new friends! It is also a chance for parents to connect to each other, learn more about resources in our community and find out ways to be more involved.

This FREE event is geared toward families with children 0-12 with no registration required.

Cooking for Teens: Sushi - March 24th, 2-3:30pm

Join sushi expert Nicholas Battista for a hands-on lesson on crafting bite-sized sushi rolls! He'll give a brief demonstration and talk about sushi tricks of the trade, then help you make your own choice of California Roll or Vegetarian Roll. 

Participants will leave with a bamboo sushi rolling mat, recipe card, and the confidence to make their own sushi at home. Anyone with an appetite for adventure is welcome. From sushi-lovers to sushi-novices, this is the program for you! 

Please contact us with any food allergies so we can ensure this will be a safe program for you to attend. Tea, both caffeinated and decaffeinated, will be served.

Calling all tweens aged 9 - 12 who enjoy LEGO©s- bring your bricks to life! Use a custom motor to add movement to LEGO© bricks and learn fundamental simple machine concepts through our designs. The goal is for children to relate these concepts to real-life applications by building fun, interactive models.
